Exceed/Excess is a fantasy adventure game with RPG elements. A married couple wash up on an island that is said to link the celestial skies, to the Earth. Their only goal is to contact their god in the hopes that it might help them avert the extinction of the human race.

Exceed/Excess is made with RPG Maker MZ for the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam. 

EXCEED SYSTEM

- Using the EXCEED system you can boost your skill, but for a price.
- Whenever you use EXCEED you are burdened with a MINOR EXCESS.
- Three Minor Excesses lead to a MAJOR EXCESS. These can effect the player characters in a number of ways, such as weakening them, or limiting their abilities.
- You will have to choose when and where to take Excesses to optimise your run.

FEATURES

- Two areas to adventure through.
- A strong focus on a sometimes sombre, sometimes fun story.
- Two playable characters.
- About 20 minutes of gameplay with several 'outcomes' available for each area.
- No battles, but plenty of action.

I wasn't quite able to finish the game. Once the Jam is finished I'll put up a roadmap for how I plan to continue the project. I'm aiming to be done by the end of June!
